Amendment on ISSSTE fees and contributions
On March 27, 2024, a Resolution by which a final paragraph is added to article 202 of the Law of the Institute of Social Security and Services for State Workers (the ISSSTE Law) (the Amendment) was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF).
In accordance with the Amendment, the worker who has been discharged due to non-payment of the fees and contributions referred to in article 202 of the ISSSTE Law, may request in writing to be reinstated in the voluntary continuation regime, within twelve months following the date of his/her discharge.
Likewise, the Amendment also establishes that people who have been discharged within the year prior to the entry into force of the Amendment, may request their voluntary continuation in the mandatory regime. The latter is of great relevance and this provision should be used by those who are under this condition.
The Amendment came into force the day after its publication in the DOF.
