On December 1, 2023, the increase in minimum wages of 20% for the year 2024 was announced by the employer and worker sectors of the National Commission of Minimum Wages (CONASAMI). This information has already been confirmed by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security. Derived from the above, the minimum wages in force as of January 1, 2024, are the following amounts:
– Northern Border Free Zone: goes from $312.41 pesos to $374.89 pesos per day, consisting of a 6% increase and an Independent Recovery Amount (MIR) of $41.26 pesos.
– For the other entities of the republic: it goes from $207.44 pesos to $248.93 pesos per day, integrated with a 6% increase and a MIR of $27.40 pesos.
In recent years, the minimum wage has not been taken as an indicator for the review of collective bargaining contracts. However, this 20% percentage will put pressure at the time of reviews, both salary and contractual.
