On May 9, 2023, the Decree declaring the termination of the extraordinary action on general health that was intended to prevent, control, and mitigate the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus (COVID-19) (the Decree), was published in the Federal Official Gazette, which entered into force as of the day after its publication.

The Decree terminates the extraordinary health actions that, at the time, were declared in the regions affected by COVID-19 throughout the national territory.

In accordance with the Decree, the Ministry of Health shall continue with the execution of the National Vaccination Policy against the SARS-CoV-2 virus, for the prevention of COVID-19 in Mexico, within the scope of its competence. Likewise, this prevention measure shall be integrated into the universal vaccination program in accordance with the long-term management plan for the control of COVID-19.

Finally, the Ministry of Health shall issue the corresponding management plan during the following 30 calendar days as of the entry into force of the Decree.

With the measure established by the Decree, workers and the general public must take the necessary measures to carry out their activities as they had been doing until before the COVID-19 pandemic.
