On March 24, 2023, the Decree adding subparagraph e) to section III of article 4 of the Law on the Institute of Social Security and Services of State Workers (the Amendment Decree), was published in the Federal Official Gazette (DOF).

With the Amendment Decree, it was established as mandatory that the Institute for Social Security and Services of State Workers (ISSSTE) grant day houses for retired seniors and pensioners entitled to ISSSTE.

The Amendment Decree entered into force the day after its publication in the DOF and the ISSSTE has a period of 120 days to issue the necessary provisions for the granting of the social service consisting of day houses. Therefore, by mid-July 2023, ISSSTE shall already count with the necessary provisions to regulate the obligation imposed by the Amendment Decree.
