On March 6, 2023, the Federal Center for Conciliation and Labor Registration, published in the Federal Official Gazette the Resolution by which the term for the registration and performance of the legitimization procedures of existing collective labor agreements is made known (the Resolution).

The Resolution states that, derived from the labor reform carried out on May 1, 2019, it was agreed that in May 1, 2023 shall expire the maximum term for the registration and legitimization of collective labor agreements. Likewise, the Resolution confirms that the term for carrying out the consultations related to the legitimization procedures of existing collective labor agreements expires on July 31, 2023.

Therefore, the Resolution extends the term for consultations by 60 more days, as long as the request has been submitted before May 1, 2023. With this, an extension is being granted so that those who have not carried out said consultations, can perform them and carry out their legitimation procedures to prevent existing collective labor agreements from losing their validity.
