COVID-19 V 4.0 permit
Weeks after the fifth wave of COVID-19 began, the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS) makes the COVID-19 V 4.0 Permit (the Permit) available to its policyholders, for those who have symptoms caused by the SARS-CoV-2 virus. With the Permit, the insured can quickly and easily obtain a disability.
If you have a qualitative detection test for coronavirus COVID-19 (SARS-CoV2) with a positive result, you can request the Permit by uploading the test results to the IMSS Digital application. Notwithstanding the foregoing, having a positive test result is not a condition for requesting or obtaining the Permit.
In either of the two abovementioned cases, the insured will receive an incapacity for work for 5 calendar days, which shall be sent to the corresponding work center.
It is very important to register the CLABE account, since it is the way in which the payment corresponding to the Permit will be deposited by the IMSS. The payment will be for 60% of the salary registered from the fourth day, like any general disability.
Unlike the fourth wave of COVID-19 in which the permit or disability was for 7 days, now the authority reduced it to 5. Derived from the above, those who are in the Human Resources area of the companies should be attentive to this modification to apply it, since prior to it, as the authority had not ruled on the matter, disability prevailed for 7 days.
