Summer schedule
On Sunday, April 3, 2022, daylight saving time begins. Therefore, we shall advance our clocks one hour. This is carried out during the period of greatest insolation of the year to reduce the demand for electrical energy and the consumption of fuels used in its generation.
In Mexico, the time change was implemented through the Ministry of Energy through the resolution establishing “Seasonal Hours in the United Mexican States” and has been in force since January 4, 1996, the date on which it was published in the Federal Official Gazette, having been established as of the first Sunday of April, up to the last Sunday of October of each year.
Specifically in the case of employees who work on the third shift, it is worth mentioning that in the summer they work one hour less, since the clock goes forward. While, those who work in the winter schedule, work an hour more, since the clock goes back. This only applies to companies that work continuously from Monday to Sunday. In this case, the recommendation to these companies is to deduct an hour in the summer and pay their employees an hour of overtime in the winter. The foregoing, with the aim of strictly complying with the provisions of the Federal Labor Law and avoiding possible sanctions in case of a breach.
