Temporary CURP for Mexican returnees

The Ministry of the Interior, through the General Direction of the National Registry of Population and Identity, created the temporary Unique Population Registry Code (CURP) for Mexican people who are in repatriation procedures and whose birth certificate or CURP at the time of entering Mexico has not been located.

This procedure is free and will serve as a means of identification to carry out government procedures; have access to public health, education and training services; and most importantly, obtain a certification for employment.

The temporary CURP is an official document with a photograph and can be obtained as of October 19, 2021, with a validity of 365 days.

It is important to mention that the workforce of Mexicans in the process of repatriation could be used in companies where there is a shortage of employees, and it is also useful so that people who are in such a situation can have decent work, while they carry out the procedures to obtain their official documents.
