On October 28, 2021, the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare (STPS), reported through Bulletin number 114/2021 (the Bulletin) that, as part of the labor transformation actions, as of November 3, 2021, there will be a digitized information system related to unions at a national level.

According to the Bulletin, 94% of the work centers that were inspected by the STPS are implementing health and safety protocols, as a result and contribution of the union organizations.

Therefore, as of November 3, the National Registry of Unions is launched. This will be in charge of the Federal Center for Conciliation and Labor Registry, which will guarantee transparency and openness in the procedures, with free access to information. Ensuring that, the Registry starts with 173 thousand union files.

Additionally, it is worth mention that the STPS continues to carry out work inspections. Therefore, it is very important for employers to take care of prevention to improve working conditions within their work centers.
