On August 23, 2022, the Resolution amending, adding and repealing various provisions of the General Regulations for Labor Inspection and Application of Sanctions (the “Regulations”) was published in the Federal Official Gazette.

The amendment to the Regulations came into force as of August 24, 2022. The foregoing is closely related to the seven strategies of the labor inspection program, created by the Decent Work Unit of the General Directorate of Labor Inspection, whose purpose is to carry out 40,000 inspections during the year 2022: 8,000 that represent 20% of the total of ordinary inspections; and 32,000, which represent 80% of the total extraordinary inspections. Therefore, companies shall be prepared to receive labor inspectors at their facilities.
